Kevin McGerry - Pitching Instructor


Kevin brings nine years of pitching instruction experience to Sluggersville.

He attended Father Judge High School where he was a three year varsity pitcher from 1995-1997. He was a two time first team All Catholic and also Inquire Pitcher of the Year in 1997. Kevin was a fourth round selection by the San Francisco Giants in the MLB draft.

After high school Kevin went to Saint John’s University from 1998-2000. He was a Freshman All American in 1998, a three time All Big East Pitcher and also broke the school’s single season strikeout record.

He was drafted in the fourth round by the Oakland Athletics and spent three seasons in their minor league system from 2000-2002. He is currently a member of the father judge varsity baseball coach staff.

Kevin’s lessons focus on the proper techniques for everyday throwing and pitching. He is available for pitching lessons Friday through Monday. Individual lessons for boys ages 10 & up. Boys 8 & 9 contact Kevin for availability.

Rates: $40/half hour and $80/hour.

Patty O'Neill - Softball Instructor (Hitting & Pitching)


Patty O’Neill brings 25 years of coaching experience to Sluggersville. She pitched at the University of Delaware from 1982 to 1985, setting numerous individual records as well as earning All-Conference recognition and participating on the 1983 East Coast Conference Championship team. Patty spent 3 years as the pitching coach at Drexel University and 3 years as an assistant coach/ recruiting coordinator at Temple. In 1993, she took the head coaching position at Drexel and was chosen North Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year in 1996. In addition to her collegiate coaching and playing experience, Patty spent 15 years coaching youth softball at Crispin Gardens and Philly Flash, as well as serving as a private pitching instructor. She was inducted into the University of Delaware Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009. Currently, Patty is a health and physical education teacher at Springfield Township High School. Her husband Shawn is the head coach of the Phillies RBI Senior Team. Patty and Shawn are proud parents of Casey, Shawn, Megan and Ryan.

Ed Omelia - Instructor


Ed Omelia has been an understudy of Mike “Big Zoom” Zolk for the last five years. Ed runs the rapidly growing Little Sluggers and All Skills Camps at Sluggersville. He also works with Big Zoom on various camps, clinics and workouts.

Ed is currently the St. Joes Prep head freshman baseball coach and varsity assistant coach. He is also the head coach for the Sluggersville Blue Sox 9u and 16u teams. The 16u was the original Sluggersville Blue Sox team and as a 14u team they won the Tri-state Elite Major Championship and four tournaments in 2013.

Since the fall of 2011 Ed’s teams have a combined 88-19 record. Since that time he also has two Tri-State Elite Championships, 5 tournament titles, 4 tournament runner up finishes, and a 5th place finish in a 21 team national tournament in Myrtle Beach, SC.

In 2012 and 2013 Ed was also a varsity assistant coach at Neumann-Gorretti, where his duties included first base coach and defensive alignments. The team won a Catholic League Championship and 2 PIAA District 12 Championships.

Ed in available for youth all skills instruction and specializes in fielding. He also excels in developing players starting at a young age. His training is fun and fast paced.

Bobby Hill - Hitting & Infield Instructor


Bobby Hill brings many years of experience to Sluggersville. From 2012 to present, he has served as Head Coach of the Junior Varsity Baseball Teams at Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster, PA. Coach Hill is a Varsity Assistant Coach in the Extra Bases Fall Baseball League for the York Street Vikings (2010 – Present).

While coaching in the Fall and Winter, he assists in team and individual workout sessions to maintain programs of physical conditioning for the players. Coach Hill has instructed players of all ages and has the patience and talents to share with the players. He developed and coordinates the Elite Baseball Camp from 2009 – Present.

For the past 12 years, Coach Hill has served as Commissioner for Region 11 travel baseball/softball at St. Albert the Great School in Huntingdon Valley, PA. Recently, he coached his 2014 Varsity squad into Region 11 Champions. Aside from his extensive baseball knowledge and experience, he has an amazing ability to build and maintain player self-esteem and confidence.

Coach Hill is a full time teacher at Roman Catholic High School and holds a BBA in Business from Temple University (1990) as well as a Master’s Degree in Education from Holy Family University (1997). He is a certified CPR Instructor and Certified Personal Trainer.

Coach Hill specializes in hitting and infield instruction, but is available for all aspects of individual and team development.

Shawn O'Neill


Shawn O’Neill brings professional and collegiate pitching experience to Sluggersville. Shawn recently completed his rookie season in the American Association Independent Baseball League, pitching for the Fargo- Moorhead RedHawks and the Gary South Shore Railcats.O’Neill began his collegiate career at the University of Richmond and completed it at LaSalle University where he was twice named Atlantic 10 Conference Pitcher of the Week and was an Atlantic 10 and Big 5 All Academic Team Selection.

In 2014, O’Neill led the Explorers in innings pitched, strikeouts, wins, saves and ERA. Additionally, O’Neill pitched for the Orleans Firebirds in the Cape Cod Baseball League in 2013 and was named Pitcher of the Year for the 2012 Valley Baseball League Champion Harrisonburg Turks.

Shawn was a three time first team All Catholic at LaSalle High School and a two time All City Selection. He participated in the USA Baseball Tournament of Stars and was a member of the RBI Phillies World Series Champions in 2007. Shawn is available for individual and group lessons for all ages and abilities. He has previously served as a clinician with the Orleans Firebirds, LaSalle College HS and Taney Dragons Youth Camps.

Mike Gondos - Pitching & Hitting Instructor


Mike Gondos was a three year varsity starter at Roman Catholic High School, finishing his career as a multiple first and second team All Catholic honoree. After his time at Roman in 1995, he accepted a Baseball scholarship at St. Joseph's University.

While at SJU, Gondos was a four year starter for the Hawks. He became the closer as a freshman as well as starting mid-week games, breaking the then freshman appearance record with 18 games pitched.

After becoming a conference starter in his sophomore year, Gondos finished his career by breaking the career appearance record, was second in career strikeouts, and tied for 5th in career wins. He graduated with a B.S. in Marketing in 1999.

After his playing career, Gondos coached at Roman Catholic for two years. He then joined the Hit Doctor Baseball Academy staff in 2004 and worked as both an instructor and manager for the Tri-State Arsenal program.

In 2008, Gondos was inducted into the Roman Catholic High School Sports Hall of Fame and in 2010, he was inducted in the Roxborough Athletic Association Sports Hall of Fame.

Currently, Gondos has been doing private lessons (both pitching and hitting) for players from ages 6 through 18 years old. He has worked with multiple members of the 2014 Taney Little League World Series team, numerous Philadelphia All Catholic and All Inter-Ac players as well as All South Jersey players.
